Welcome to the pages of the IZWT

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Science and Technology Studies (IZWT) conducts and supports research projects in the fields of history of science, philosophy of science and sociology of science. Cooperation between the three core disciplines of history, philosophy and sociology, as well as physics and mathematics, is focussed on the development and structure of science and technology. The centre cultivates interdisciplinary work between the humanities, natural sciences and technical sciences. By organizing colloquia, lecture series, workshops and project-related cooperation, the IZWT promotes dialogue between the different cultures of knowledge.
